BOILERPLATE — SHORT
LymphocyteCount.org is an independent, family-run educational site asking that the absolute lymphocyte count, a number printed on every routine blood test, be read and acted on in cancer care.

BOILERPLATE — MEDIUM
LymphocyteCount.org is an independent educational site founded in 2026 by Dr. Gary Kompothecras and Beth Kompothecras of Sarasota, Florida, after Beth's absolute lymphocyte count fell to 525 following colon-cancer treatment without ever being discussed. The site links every claim to peer-reviewed or regulatory sources, and asks that the lymphocyte count, already printed on every complete blood count, be read, recorded and acted on for every cancer patient. It is self-funded and accepts no industry money or advertising.

KEY FACTS
- The number: absolute lymphocyte count (ALC), on every CBC with differential. Adult lymphopenia: below 1,000 cells/µL.
- Severe treatment-related lymphopenia roughly doubles the hazard of death across glioma, pancreatic and lung cancer (Grossman et al., JNCCN 2015, HR 2.1; Damen et al., 2021 meta-analysis of 20 studies, HR 1.65).
- No U.S. oncology guideline located sets an ALC threshold for monitoring or treatment.
- Beth Kompothecras: 525 (Jan 2026) → 1,400 (Feb 2026, after first Anktiva injection) → 1,131 (Jul 2026, after ten). Normal range on her report: 850–3,900.
- Anktiva (nogapendekin alfa inbakicept): FDA-approved April 22, 2024 for BCG-unresponsive non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer with carcinoma in situ. Use for lymphopenia is investigational (expanded access, NCT06956547). FDA warning letter to the manufacturer, March 13, 2026.

VERIFIED QUOTES (from the published statement, September 2026)
"For more than two years afterward, Beth did everything conventional and integrative medicine could offer, and the cells that actually fight cancer and infection, her lymphocytes, kept falling, all the way to 525. She was told she was cancer-free. She was not well, and no one could tell us what to do about it." — Dr. Gary Kompothecras
"Make sure the number that predicted Beth's suffering is read on every cancer patient's chart, and make sure that the next Beth can be treated without knowing anyone. We were lucky. Luck should not be part of the protocol." — Dr. Gary Kompothecras
"They knew my name. They explained the science to me in plain language and never talked down to me. They watched my numbers as closely as I did, and they celebrated with me when they came back." — Beth Kompothecras
